Dad Hack - Regulate your emotions when theirs are out of control.

Regulate your emotions when theirs are out of control.
This is easier said than done, especially after a long day, when you are tired, and have little patience.
Being a father isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.
Talking about patience, emotional regulation, and leadership is easy when things are calm.
Real fatherhood is tested in the chaos.
When your child rolls their eyes in defiance…
When they throw a toy across the room in frustration…
When they hit their sibling out of anger…
These moments aren’t threats to you as a father or parent. They’re opportunities to lead by example.
This is not the time to yell.
It is not the time to power up and “show them who’s boss.”
This is the time to model emotional control.
To breathe instead of bark.
It is a time to step in with calm instead of a bunch of crazy.
How you respond teaches more than what you say.
Kids don’t need a perfect dad.
They need a dad who shows them what strength looks like when it matters most.
A Day Warrior leads himself first—especially when it’s hard.
That’s how we raise stronger, wiser, more emotionally grounded kids.
It starts with us.
If I could turn back the clock each time I lost my cool with kids, I would. The worst part is the expression I remember on their faces.
A moment of lost control is not worth it!
Stay calm.
Stay present.
Lead well.
